PRESS RELEASE
2001/07
December 27, 2001
FREE HELP OFFERED TO
FMD MEETINGS
At the height of the foot and mouth outbreak, one of Britains leading veterinary education charities, the Wildlife Information Network, produced its comprehensive, fully referenced one-stop source of information on FMD on CD ROM.
Part of the WILDPro modular CD ROM library of veterinary information, WIN has decided that there is still a need to inform farmers and their advisers about the disease.
Accordingly, WIN is offering FREE copies of the Foot and Mouth Disease CD ROM to anyone organising an information meeting during the winter months.
It contains detailed information on clinical signs, diagnosis, vaccination, disinfection and information on FMD in both domestic livestock and non-domestic animals.
The CD ROM also contains a wealth of background information including European documentation, many crucial articles and all the DEFRA risk assessments up to June 6 2001 all important reference material which can be difficult to locate.
To request your FREE copy, please write to Wildlife Information Network, Royal Veterinary College, Royal College Street, London NW1 0TU.

NOTES FOR EDITORS
1.
The Wildlife Information Network was set up
10 years ago by Yorkshire-born Suzanne Boardman, then a veterinarian at London Zoo who was
receiving requests for information and technical support from all corners of the globe.
The information existed, but was fragmented and, in emerging countries, very difficult to
obtain. WIN was inaugurated as a paper network of newsletters and collated information. It
became a registered charity (No. 1048059) in 1995.

Production of the WILDPro Foot and Mouth
Disease CD ROM was generously sponsored by Merial Animal Health Ltd.
