This section currently contains information on the diseases of waterfowl, Foot-and-Mouth Disease, West Nile Virus Infection, Chronic Wasting Disease, diseases of Hedgehogs, oiling, diseases important in oiled wildlife and diseases of elephants, plus brief overviews of many of the diseases of importance in UK Wildlife.

The page on a given disease may be reached by following the obvious links from the dark red "Diseases" button which is visible at the top of the screen at all times (except when viewing an image). Links are also available from within each module (e.g. in Waterfowl from the "Waterfowl diseases" section of the main flow diagram and in UK Wildlife from the "General Physical Examination and Assessment" pages within the Assessment section visible on the main flow diagram). A third method is by using  the on-line search mechanism (see "How to search" for further details).

Major disease pages, which may print out to 10 or 12 pages of A4, provide extensive information on the disease including clinical characteristics and pathology, susceptibility and transmission, investigation and diagnosis, environment and geography and treatment and control. Links are provided to the agent or agents (living, i.e. a species, or non-living such as a physical factor) which cause the disease, the species affected by the disease, and to appropriate general and specific techniques in the "How to..." section of the Website. Disease Summary and Link pages provide information on the alternative names of the disease and associated agents, together with a concise description of the clinical and pathological characteristics and further appropriate information including an indication of the species or taxonomic groups affected. All information is referenced with links provided to details of the references used (see: "Refs. & Gloss").

At this time three volumes, "Foot and Mouth Disease" and "West Nile Virus" and "Chronic Wasting Disease" provide detailed and extensive information on specific diseases within Wildpro.
