Notes to editors:
- The National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC) is a science center of the Biological Resources Division of the United States Geological Survey (US Department of the Interior) located in Madison, Wisconsin. The NWHC was established in 1975 as a biomedical laboratory dedicated to assessing the impact of disease on wildlife and to identify the role of various pathogens in contributing to wildlife losses. WIN has been collaborating with NWHC for over seven years. (For further information see http://www.nwhc.usgs.gov)
- Wildpro© Multimedia is an Electronic Encyclopaedia and Library providing information on emerging infectious diseases and the health and management of captive and free-ranging wild animals. It is a living document, with new information being added constantly through the development of new modules. It is researched, developed and published by Wildlife Information Network (WIN) to provide information to decision-makers world-wide, and users include wildlife managers, researchers, government officials, veterinarians, field biologists, zoologists, laboratory diagnosticians, zoological collections, conservation and welfare organizations, universities, and students of a wide variety of disciplines. Information is made available on the Internet and CD-ROMs. (A temporary username and password for access to the full system will be issued to journalists on request.)
- Copies of the CD-ROMs may be purchased directly from WIN at USD$50 plus S&H. Contact WIN at E-mail: win@wildlifeinformation.org
